A year after Omar passed away, we decided to start having a get-together with our family to honor our hero.  What started as a Saturday with family and food at a forest preserve turned into family, friends, extended family, family friends, and our family's friends in huge tents with all the proceeds going towards a scholarship fund in our hero's name. 

 

Every year, our picnic grows and prospers - it's a very humble experience to be a part of and to be able to help students with their tuition needs at De La Salle Institute makes it all worthwhile.  We make our proceeds by accepting donations, silent auction items, raffle ticket baskets, 50/50 raffle, and selling memorial items such as wristbands, t-shirts, magnets, and more.
